Welcome to Season 2010
Hello and Happy New year to all, including Foundation Players, team Managers, Players that have joined us over the time that this competition has been up and running and of course new players that are or may be associating with us for the first time in 2010.
There will be some changes to the way in which the games are played this year. It is accepted that not every player may believe these are necessary or appropriate, however they have been implemented for the general good and to ensure that the true spirit of the competition continuous to be our paramount consideration - namely:-
[a] Playing football
[b] Sportsmanship
[c] Friendship
[d] Participation
[e] Fitness
[f] Fun
This is a good time to again remind all players that there are other competitions where more serious and competitive play is available and expected - if that is what they want or need.

Important Information
Support for PCYC QSF metro 2
We currently have a team in the QSF metro 2 who have excelled all season and are now in a position to get promoted for the 1st time in the clubs history.
We invite all of our Over35s members to the
last game of season against 2nd place team – this saturday at 3pm at PCYC We need as much support there as possible as this game will decide the Minor
Premiership, which will be the greatest football honour the pcyc has achieved, and will see us into metro 1 next year.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO COME & CHEER THE BOYS ON!
PLAYERS BEHAVIOUR
We believe it is now time to crack down on Referee abuse and general conduct issues – so all refs will be told to use cards – any verbal abuse of ref = red card.
General foul language on field so spectators can hear = yellow. Bad /reckless tackles = yellow or red as the case may dictate. If Red, one match suspension minimum
and $50 fine, with scope for worse penalty subject to conduct.
The players guilty of continuing with these type of offences probably now need to leave the comp as they have had years to change…but obviously cant.
We should also say that players who are obviously capable of playing at a far higher or greater standard, particularly younger players, probably should
be playing elsewhere as well.
The majority of players come down the enjoy themselves, and it is not possible with the ongoing behaviour of a few.
Games are often quite unpleasant to Ref – we are lucky that we actually have our own guys reffing as I doubt anyone else would put up with it
(as per previous years).
It would be appreciated if all managers could make it VERY clear to their problem players that this is how we will run the last 7 games and the finals.
Also a reminder that the 7 a side will start the 8th October – the week after our comp ends, if managers can let players know that this is coming and teams can
be discussed. It then runs to 17th December.
THE SEASON
It is anticipated that the first formal fixture of what will be a 21 game (3 Rounds) competition plus three (3) games for the final series will commence on 16th April 2010.
We will break for two (2) weeks with the show and have some potential for other breaks if the need arises (holidays, long weekends etc).
As usual, please have regard to the fact that the fixtures and playing schedule may be altered during the course of the season with all such alterations being notified to Managers and included in the website.

FITNESS
Competition organisers certainly encourage players recommencing play after years of absence to ensure that they are medically examined and are fit enough
and for previous players to again recommence fitness training prior to the season itself.
There has been a general experience of muscular strain and tears and this is particularly the case for players who have not played for some time or have not
properly prepared for the rigours of a 70 minute game.
PLAYER BEHAVIOUR
Bad behaviour will not be tolerated this year. Any players swearing at a Referee or Aggressive play towards an opponent player or any behaviour reported to the
Management Committee which is deemed not to be in the spirit or best interest of the competition will
be dealt with by the P.C.Y.C Disciplinary Committee and they face suspension or expulsion from the competition and/or game time suspension or fines.
As adopted in previous years, players fined (anyone red carded) will receive a fine and payment (must be made prior to them being able to play again) will be
donated to a charity.
