Hi again to all past and new players interested in participating in our competition in 2009.

Thank you all for your support of the Redcliffe PCYC and the aims and objectives that the PCYC club enshrines - 'Supporting the community through youth development'.

As many of you would be aware, since before the end of the last season there have been some considerations and deliberations in relation to format of the competition in 2009 - mainly directed around the possibility of the introduction of smaller sided games, no offside's etc.

After consideration of several options and alternatives and can I say with reasonably limited feed back from previous players, other than players that participated in the mixed seven a side summer competition, the club have decided to run with the existing 11 aside completion again for 2009 rather then having both 11 aside and 7 aside competitions running together as had been earlier considered as a viable option.

The principal decision to proceed in this manner is not based on our view that the 7 aside, smaller field (full size goals) and no offside version of the game is not possibly the more ideal option at over 35 level, but given the limited feed back and the additional work that will be required to re-adjust the fields and administer 2 separate competitions with different fees, and with little further suggestion of much assistance from players or managers in this regard (there have been some offers of assistance which is heartening) the response did not justify the effort.

There also appeared to be a consensus that the 11 a side version with the rules we all know (but continue to madly argue about each game) was preferred.
