Welcome to Season 2010
Hello and Happy New year to all, including Foundation Players, team Managers, Players that have joined us over the time that this competition has been up and running and of course new players that are or may be associating with us for the first time in 2010.
There will be some changes to the way in which the games are played this year. It is accepted that not every player may believe these are necessary or appropriate, however they have been implemented for the general good and to ensure that the true spirit of the competition continuous to be our paramount consideration - namely:-
[a] Playing football
[b] Sportsmanship
[c] Friendship
[d] Participation
[e] Fitness
[f] Fun
This is a good time to again remind all players that there are other competitions where more serious and competitive play is available and expected - if that is what they want or need.

Important Information
FACILITIES AT THE SHOWGROUNDS
We were fortunate last year to be assisted by the Redcliffe Lyons Club who set up a Canteen at the Southern end of the ground.
They had reasonably limited support but appear to be prepared to continue to provide this facility.
It should be noted that they have toilet facilities as well as the canteen and some storage areas and although the showground facilities includes
stands and toilets, they do present some significant concern in relation to children wandering off into the showground itself,
interaction with other users of showgrounds and also risk associated with use of these stands.
It is therefore proposed that players and spectators now park at the Hockey Club side of the Showgrounds and that players and spectators be encouraged to
sit in the vicinity of the canteen area to ready themselves for games and watch games. We are looking into seating arrangements.
This arrangement is likely to eliminate some of the existing issues with the Showground caretaker in relation to cars exiting or leaving the compound at
speed, litter, and is also likely to increase the use of a canteen creating a win-win situation.

WET WEATHER
As previously was the case, a call will be made at 5.00pm on Match Days as to whether the pitch and/or pending weather conditions make the running of games
on that particular night feasible.
Any nights that are cancelled will not be replaced. The decision which will be made by an allocated representative of the competition will be based
primarily on safety but also player comfort considerations.
FINALS
The Finals format will be as the 2009 Season.
