Injury - fitness - liability issues

Particularly given a pending claim against the Club from last year, it will be absolutely necessary this year for all players to acknowledge a full degree of responsibility for them personally taking the field in every single game.

This is likely to be drafted in such a way as each player will acknowledge that it is their responsibility to inspect the playing surfaces, make a call on surface conditions, weather conditions and the like before voluntarily taking the field.

There will be nothing left to chance in terms of players suggesting somehow that someone else made them play and was the cause of an injury; and further that all players will sign off to accept the inherent risks of playing in a sport which includes injuries which may require expensive medical treatment and/or may result in a players playing career coming to an end, temporarily or permanently.

General Information

Obvious really, but we are going to now make very sure of this. If you don't like the state of the fields, don't play.

Players will also again be encouraged to ensure that they have advice from a Doctor in terms of any medical condition which may create some risks in playing, have a proper assessment of their general level of health, and also be encouraged to take out some level of their own income protection insurance if appropriate, given that the cover under PCYC membership is limited and minimal.
