Summer Football at Redcliffe PCYC
For those old fogeys amongst us who wish to keep active and fit in mind
and body before the 2009 Season, PCYC offer the following alternatives:
Get down to the PCYC
Speak to Peter Parkes about participation
in Boxing, Personal Fitness Training Sessions, Squash or other organised or
individual activities.Take advantage of
the use of the gym and maybe even arrange a group of your team players to meet
on a particular night to keep your fitness levels up.
Indoor Football
As most of would know there is an Over
35’s and Open Indoor Soccer Competition starting on the 7
October 2008.
Registrations close shortly for teams and
individuals, the only other Sign On is
6:30 to 8:30pm
on the 25 August at the PCYC.
This is an inexpensive way to keep your
Football skills honed, the venue is the Redcliffe High Sports Hall and in past
years this has been an excellent competition.
7 A Side Outdoor Football
For many years we have been looking at
other alternatives for the Outdoor Football.
A summer competition will be run at the
PCYC grounds on 2 3/4 fields using full size goals.
It will be a 7 a side format with no
off-sides and all players registered as individual registrants (not teams).

7 A Side Outdoor Football (cont'd)
Players are all seeded and then drawn out of the hat to fill each team, of 12
players (5 subs), by organisers, subject to numbers, will be 8 or more teams.
Most likely over 35 and Open divisions.
The competition will run from Friday 17 October to 19th December, with finals, with all Registrations to be finalised by Sunday 3 October 2008 and teams being named by Sunday 10 October 2008.
We would encourage all of you who want to keep fit to entering this competition. It would be an opportunity to mix with Players from other teams and also members
of the Youth and Mens PCYC teams and others who have not previously played at the PCYC.
Remember that each player will be seeded and there will be an equal distribution of players with similar talent - hopefully a very balanced and fun competition.
There will be goal scoring restrictions per player.
The games will be 17.5 minute halves - no break, no offside or slide tackles.
Registration fees for the competition, shirt hire and match fees for current PCYC Members are being decided.
A reminder to everyone that proceeds of this type of activity, as is the case of the Over 35 Winter Competition, will go back to the PCYC for general
use to enhance the community through 'youth development' but specifically to assist in revenue raising to go towards the PCYC redevelopment including
the Football Club house which is about to commence and thereafter the redevelopment of the entire complex which we hope will include a modern indoor stadium.
In relation to the 7 a side, it is anticipated that Signs ons will occur in late September, with an up front all up fee including rego,
game fees & shirt hire to cut down on admin.
Players must be pcyc members.
