7 A Side Football

Over 35s & Open Details

Each team will play 1 game a night although this depends on the expression of interest shown and sign on figures. This year there will be 3 competitions 'SEEDED', 'over 35's' & 'OPEN'.

Games will be 20 minutes each way with no half-time

Game starting times will be:

  • Game 1 (6.35 pm)
  • Game 2 (7.20 pm)
  • Game 3 (8.05 pm)
  • Game 4 (8.50 pm)

Probably Shotgun Start - No injury or extra time (except during the finals period)

Any team who is unable to field a complete team (7 players and at least 1 reserve) will be able to borrow players at the borrowed registry table the Registry table will have a Registration form that any player can enroll on if they wish to play more than one game each night.

Borrowed Players are to be allocated to teams by the competition organizers to ensure a fair player distribution.

Borrowed players must wear a the borrowed players wristband and Sign the Team sheet only in the Borrowed players section.

A borrowed player can score 0ne (1) goal only per game - a goal kick will be awarded if he scores after this.

PLEASE NOTE

Normal football rules will apply except for:

  • no tackling from behind at all
  • no slide tackles or going to ground to win or play at the ball even if there is no other player in the vicinity (i.e if you place a knee on the ground this is deemed going to ground)
  • no off-side
  • all players can enter the goal circle - when a penalty has been awarded all players must be behind the ball and 7 metres from the ball, apart from the penalty taker and the goalkeeper
  • The maximum goals any one player can score per game are four (4)
  • a player will be notified by the referee when he reaches his limit and a goal kick will be awarded if he scores after this
  • a goal kick can be taken from anywhere on the goal circle
  • A disciplinary committee will be formed and their decision will be final
  • No abuse of Match Officials will be allowed (players or teams that go beyond the limits may be ejected from the comp.)

Any over the top aggression or continued foul play from a particular team or player will result in a warning from disciplinary committee and possible ejection from the comp.

Goalkeepers cannot score from within their own goalkeeping circle but have the same rights as a field player when leaving their goalkeeping circle.

Goalkeepers can not kick or throw the ball over the 2/3rds of the field from the goalkeeping circle.

All Sideline starts will be an indirect kick in and all defensive players must be a minimum of 2.5 metres from the ball.

This YEAR we have a "Self Play" Free kick where a Player is able to play the ball to Himself and play on (This Free kick must be played exactly from the spot).

All free kicks are direct and defending players must be a minimum of 7 metres from the ball except in the case of "self play" free kicks where all players must be at least attempting to get 7 metres away from the ball.

At all kick offs the attacking team must all be behind the ball and all defending players must be behind the 2/3rd line on the defensive end of field.

Teams must have a minimum of 4 players before the game is allowed to start.

Important Info
The aim of the competition is for ALL THE participants to have an avenue for football, fitness and enjoyment during the summer months with a lesser chance of injury in a friendly and social atmosphere.
